Thunderstorms & Treating yourself :)

Happy Monday! This has been an all around good start to my week....breakfast was Quaker Oat Squares cereal~yummm!
I worked for a few hours and then went downtown to visit my mom at work. After I left there I decided since Kiwi was only a few blocks up I should treat myself to some froyo :)  No pics were taken but today's mix was Peanut Butter, pretzels, yogurt chips & rainbow sprinkles! When I got home the sun was shining and the house was hotter than the temp outside so, I decided to hit the pavement for a good run! I did the same route I did the other day when I took my car into the shop. HOLY HOTNESS. Seriously. I did 2.4 miles in under 17 minutes. Not too bad if I say so myself ;) There was a storm a-brewin as I started to get closer to home, look at this sky!
When I got home I jumped right in the shower and turned the water to COLD! After my shower I sat down with a refreshing glass of iced tea (of course I drank out of my princess cup)
Misha and I relaxed and caught up on our show: Tabitha's Salon Takeover!
Tonight's dinner is pulled pork. Abram put it in the crock pot this morning. Side dishes are: zucchini fries and Caribbean vegetables. The zucchini fries were awesome! The veggies, not so much...they were mushy and just not good. I think I got the recipe for the zucchini fries on Food Gawker one day and it's been saved as a note on my phone for weeks. Soooo yummy, try 'em out! They are super easy too!
Zucchini Fries:
1 medium zucchini, sliced into sticks
1 large egg white
1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. garlic powder (optional)
cooking spray
salt & pepper
~In a small bowl, beat the egg white and season with salt and pepper. In a ziplock bag, place the breadcrumbs and garlic powder; shake well. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray and set aside. ~Dip the zucchini sticks into the egg and then place into the bread crumb mixture, a few at a time and shake to coat. Place the breaded zucchini in a single layer and spray more cooking spray on top. Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes.

Dessert will be the delicious cherries I bought today at Wegman's. I want to be cool like Janae and stand in front of the garbage too :)  Makes sense though, seeds are annoying! Have a great night everyone!
Question: Do you drink out of "adult" glasses or plastic princess/pumpkin cups?

1 comment:

  1. We own adult glasses, but EVERYTHING tastes better in a princess cup. Fact.

I am LUSTING over the zucchini fries! :)
